African Society

SACS is a school that embraces all learners in different Societies and cultures. In order for our learners to showcase their talents outside the classroom, they engage themselves in different activities. As the head of the African Society at SACS, I welcome all the learners from Grade 8-12 regardless of their race, religion and background to join the Society so that they can learn more from each other.

Christian Union

Christian Union meetings are held every Tuesday at lunch break. We have a learner committee which typically comprises 5-8 boys, who work in conjunction with the master-in-charge to plan the termly schedule of events.

The society is interdenominational and aims to cater to the spiritual needs of both existing Christians and those who may not call themselves Christians but are interested in finding out more about faith, God and Jesus.

The society is predominantly learner-driven and boys assist each other in film production. The school provides various film-making equipment, but the boys manage to organise themselves. The society is very active and it is the producer of the termly ‘Prefect Films’. Two members of the film society won national and an international award since its conception

Maths Club

The Maths Club is a society that helps develop passion in a subject that many consider boring or too difficult. It is a place where students can learn new mathematical concepts that may only be taught in higher grades or may not appear in the school’s syllabus at all. It also helps students improve their problem solving skills that will assist them in Maths and other school subjects as well as in Maths competitions. As a group, we discuss different topics, and solutions to various maths problems.
